Arrive 15 minutes early with your ID and booking confirmation. The test takes 45 minutes, and you get your result before you leave.
Facts checked 25 October 2026
Bring
- Your booking confirmation email or letter.
- The right ID. See what ID to bring.
- Glasses if you use them for screens.
Arriving
Aim for at least 15 minutes early. If you're late, you may not be let in, and the fee isn't refunded, whatever the reason. Staff check your ID before you go in.
The test
- 50 questions on a touch screen, with a clock showing time left.
- There are eight styles of question. See question types.
- If you booked a voiceover, each question is read out to you in your language.
Your result
You get your result on the day, with a score report. Keep the report safe: it has the details you need to apply for your CSCS card. You can also see your scores in your CITB account.
Test-day tips
- Read every word of the question. Look for "not", "first" and "best".
- Check how many answers a question wants before you tick.
- Don't leave any blank. A blank can't score.
- Answer the way the site rules and the law say, not the way a shortcut on your last job worked.
