Pass mark, questions and time
50 questions in 45 minutes. You need 45 right, which is 90%. That's the same for all three versions.
Facts checked 25 October 2026
| Questions | 50 |
|---|---|
| Time | 45 minutes |
| Pass mark | 45 out of 50 (90%) |
| Wrong answers you can afford | 5 |
| Time per question | About 54 seconds |
Why 90% is harder than it sounds
You can only get 5 wrong. Most people who fail know the topics but lose marks on careless reading: missing a "not", or ticking one box on a "choose two" question. A "choose two" question only scores if both ticks are right.
Pacing
45 minutes for 50 questions is about 54 seconds each. Most questions take less. If one stumps you, give your best answer and move on. A blank answer can't score.
What score to aim for in practice
Aim to score 45 or more on a timed mock several times in a row before you book. One lucky pass on a mock isn't enough, because the real test draws different questions.
